Egg Carton Scavenger Hunt

scavenger hunt

Materials Needed

  • Egg Carton
  • Card Stock or Construction Paper
  • Crayons
  • Scissors

Instructions

This project is really fun for children ages 3 -8.  Using construction paper, trace the top of your egg carton. Cut that out and create a grid on top to present 12 boxes.  You can make multiple tops, each with a different theme.  We made a colors & patterns one, an alphabet one and a random one with items.  Let the children go throughout the house finding an item to put in the egg carton that is associated with the corresponding label.  You can do this as an “eat the rainbow” activity too and let the kids raid the fridge.  Baby carrots for orange, olives for black, avocado for green….you get the idea! We got a bit creative on our “random top” – we stamped, stickered, glittered a sticky label, cut out a flower and glued on some googly eyes.  Use your imagination!
