“Put your hands up! Everybody sing along!” Well, that’s exactly what the Atlanta Sensible Sitters team did along with hundreds on tiny screaming fans! Kids of all ages came out to Stone Mountain Park this past weekend to hear all of their favorite Laughing Pizza hits, as well as some brand-new, never-been-heard-before songs. The concert took place inside the Magnolia Theatre located in the heart of the gorgeous park with a stunning view of Stone Mountain.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Laughing Pizza, they are an awesome family band originally based out of Smyrna, Georgia! Lisa, the mom, was classically trained on the piano and was even accepted to Julliard! Billy, the dad, plays seven instruments in total, but mostly plays the guitar during their concerts. Last, but not least, is Emily, the daughter, who at a very young age joined the band with her parents and now performs around the country with them full-time! She plays five instruments and began homeschooling in 6th grade to make the band her number one commitment.
The band played a bunch of fan favorites – including “The Pizza Dance” and “Let’s Go Play!”- both of which are very interactive and encourage the kids to jump out of their seats and participate. The kids even got to write an original song with the band by recounting some of their favorite family activities and everyday routines. The band wrote down all of the kids’ answers and turned them in to an adorable song entitled “This is My Life”, appropriately named, of course.
You’ll be able to catch Laughing Pizza several more times this year at venues around Atlanta, including Fernbank! Check out their concert schedule on their website, www.laughingpizza.com, and be sure to look for the Sensible Sitters team while you’re there!
