Many of our families will be packing up & shipping out in the next month for a much needed week of warmth! Some of you may still be chasing the snow, but most are day dreaming about sun & sand. Below we have shared with you some of our favorite picks for Spring Break Travel Trips!
How adorable are these swimsuits for little girls! Founded by Kimberly Goodwin, a Sensible Mom, Snapping Turtle provides fashion & function on the beach – at the youngest age!The swimsuits all have snaps along the bottom. Read: no more sand scraped baby skin, from struggling to get a wet suit off for a diaper change! Pretty genius – and there are accompanying cover ups, hats and one shoulder suits, for the baby diva traveling with you!
Founded by Sensible Mom Tiffany Moller, Parasol is the destination for Sun Protective Resort Wear. My personal favorite is the Bimini Swim Dress. This dress is sun protective and scrunched at the bottoms, keeping snug but giving full coverage. It dries quickly, so you can sit apres-swim and eat poolside without changing clothing! There are no chemicals used in the italian nylon & it is SFP 50+. Parasol also makes matching mother & daughter tops & bottoms.
If you are a parent of a boy, you know there is plenty of adorable girls swimwear, but its not always easy to find the same for the little men in your life. Cabana Life is to the rescue, look no further! They have lovely women & girls pieces but we think they have hit the nail on the head with their handsome boys rashguard sets & matching hats.
Lands End came out with these playful boys board shorts, available in 2T-XL. They are a fun octopus print in vibrant colors.
Let’s be honest, you are going on vacation to get some rest, right? So once you have swam your morning out & had lunch, let your baby sleep longer with the Zoe B Sleepy Hat. The flip-down mask blocks out light and visual stimulation. Great for on the plane or once at the hotel. You will still have to tip toe, but you will not have turn down all the blinds!
Lastly, a trip to the beach would not be complete without your arsenal of sunscreen. I love bringing a stick, such as this one from California Baby. This is available for $14.00 at Target. If this is your first time traveling with a baby or toddler, believe us when we strongly suggest a stick. It is great for those moments where a quick smear is all their wriggly selves will let you get & can be used on the cheeks, under eyes, lips or body. Don’t forget the toes!
I always encourage families to buy a large jug of Supergoop’s Everyday SPF 30+ lotion for their beach house or second home. It is moisturizing & paraben free. It has a pump top, so there is no waste, and when we stock homes for families in the summer I always make certain one of these is found near the dressing station. You can use as morning moisturizer and re-apply throughout the day. The best part is that it is scent-free as well as water & sweat resistant.
